Track When You Last Changed Your Duvet Cover

The CDC mentions washing bedding and drying it completely in guidance for people managing dust-mite-triggered asthma. That scope matters: it is condition-specific guidance, not a universal duvet-cover interval.
A randomized bedding-cover trial included duvet or blanket covers as part of a broader dust-mite intervention. It reduced measured mattress mite allergens but did not show a significant improvement in the clinical outcomes studied from that single intervention. It did not test ordinary duvet-cover logging.

Let the product label define care details
IKEA's care guide notes that different materials need different washing and drying methods and distinguishes duvet covers from the duvet itself. Manufacturer instructions for a particular bedding range can also describe different care requirements for that product.
